Mathieu Erramuzpe joined Jones Fortuna as an associate attorney in September 2024. Mathieu joins the firm from the Southern Environmental Law Center, where his practice spanned a broad array of environmental issues — including PFAS, microplastics, endangered species, public lands management, groundwater use, and air and wetlands permitting. He has litigated cases under the Clean Water Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the Endangered Species Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and the Administrative Procedure Act, among other federal laws. He also clerked for the Honorable Thomas W. Thrash, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Mathieu received his juris doctor from Harvard Law School, where he served on the Executive Board of the Harvard Business Law Review. During law school, he interned in the environmental departments of government agencies and law firms, among them the United States Department of Justice, the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General, and Sidley Austin LLP. Mathieu received his B.S. in international business and finance from the University of South Carolina.
